The Edmonton Year in Review |

Both The Edmonton Journal and ITV are leading sources of news content, however they have never collaborated as partners to develop a true multimedia product. Both companies had identified the school system's need for news content, but had never considered the potential of delivering both media simultaneously. Blackstone Multimedia believed that if both sources of news could be brought together, an annual Year in Review time capsule could be created as a valuable classroom tool. By bringing together over 50,000 news articles and 45 minutes of video, Blackstone created an industry-leading educational CD-ROM a first in North America. The Year in Review is structured as a resource for news retrieval as well as a teaching tool on specified topics. The CD ROM was such as success, Telus purchased a copy for all Edmonton schools. |
