Supporting the Standards

Blackstone has developed the "viaMedia" and "hostanote" products using the specification as outlined by IMS. IMS is part of a global standard effort to help ensure interoperability and re-use of learning objects.

Standards are a critical design requirement in all our software. It is our belief that since the work you do in creating modules is yours, you should have the maximum flexibility on how you want to use your content in the future.

Therefore as much as technology allows, and where Standards bodies exist and are recognized, Blackstone makes every effort to build product that support such standards.

Earlier versions of viaMedia that focused on Assessment, also supported the QTI standard, (a subset of IMS specifically for questions)
